I am 3 days into the editing phase of my sample pack and the project deadline is getting very close. I am aware that I wont have time to add all the features I want so I am going to release this product as a pilot product for a larger scale project that will come out at a later date with all the features included. This is a significant change to my project plan that I couldn't have predicted. I've been doing lots of research into drum kit sounds used in dnb and have taken elements of different kits to make 5 kits I really like the sound of. The bit crusher kit was a particularly pleasant surprise. It produced some interesting sounds that I wouldn’t have expected to work but they would fit some sub genres of DnB perfectly. Grooves with lots of hihat and ghost note interplay sound particularly good with the kit. I wanted each drum kit to sound different and give producers a variety of ways to use them. The lofi kit started out sounded too similar to the studio kit so I detuned the drum samples individually and removed some of the treble to give the kit a muted crack, reminiscent of lofi/trip hop type sounds or a dusty vinyl record.
